Social Activities for the Active Retiree
It's true - Whispering Winds throws the best parties in town. But we don't stop there. Our calendar is stocked with interesting things to do for everyone, whether you want an active, outgoing adventure, or you just want to relax and enjoy an entertainment program. Our programs are designed to enlighten, stimulate, and entertain our residents. Take a look through our photo gallery or our newsletters to see just how active and fun our residents are.
Exercise and Fitness 
Take advantage of your own individual exercise plan in our Fitness Center, or join one of our organized classes. Exercise class is offered each morning, Monday through Friday in our large Activity Room
Educational Programs
You'll find intriquing presentations, seminars and classes throughout the year at Whispering Winds. Guest speakers are selected based on our residents' interests and requests. Our own Whispering Winds University series bring you informative up-to-date information on practical and fun topics. Past programs have included our Financial Series, Wellness Series and Gardening Series. We also take regular community trips to museums, libraries and other areas of interest to our residents.
Entertainment
Dances, concerts, parties and more - all right in your own home. We also take regular trips out into the Central Oregon community to see plays, concerts and other entertainment events. You'll also enjoy our Sunday and Monday country rides to all parts of Central Oregon. Other day trips and overnight trips are also planned on a regular basis. Have some popcorn and pull up a chair. Movie days are scheduled two or more times a week in our Theatre Room for more relaxed entertainment.
Lifetime Activities
Join one our many groups of residents who get together to continue activities they've participated in for years or are just learning in retirement. Current groups include: Bridge, Chess, Cribbage, Pinochle and Mah Jong. There's also a Writer's Group that meets twice a month.
Social Events
Meet your friends and bring your family. There's something for everyone from our weekly Happy Hour to our wine & cheese socials and afternoon teas. You may also enjoy our lunches and dinner trips out on the town or our monthly mens breakfast.
Spiritual Activities
In-house church services are held in our chapel each Sunday afternoon. Transportation to your favorite local church is also provided on Sundays.
Annual Events
Whispering Winds holds a number of annual events that are the talk of Central Oregon. Our Anniversary Party is held every May and features a themed event with costumes, entertainment and fabulous food. Our annual Family and Friends event is an outdoor summer party blowout in August, complete with barbecue, dancing and lots of summer-time fun for the whole family. Sweets for the Sweet in February features a smorgasboard of confectionary delights that go oh so well with champagne. Art In the Garden in July features a number of local artists along with some of our resident artisans displaying their artwork on our beautiful courtyard. Karen Stockton, Antique Appraisor, joins us every September for our Antique Appraisal Show. October brings in German festivities at our lively Oktoberfest, complete with cold beer, polka music, and a German feast. Viva! Vino! is the newest annual event at Whispering Winds in November. This event includes a wine tasting with a local wine expert. And of course, you won't ever want to miss our Holiday Event in December. This theme-based party includes a progressive dinner through the halls of Whispering Winds and can only be rivaled by our own anniversary party.
