MARY HAMILTON, General Manager
Mary Hamilton came to Whispering Winds when the community first opened in May 2003. Mary began her tenure at WW as the Assistant Manager and moved to General Manager in April 2005. Before coming to WW, Mary had 20 years of experience in the retirement industry, working for different retirement communities from California to Florida, and finally Central Oregon, which she says is the best place in the country to live! Mary has lived in Central Oregon since 2000. She lives with her husband, who is also in the retirement field, their four cats, one dog and numerous deer and squirrels.

CARRIE KASCH , Assistant Manager
Carrie Kasch began her employment at Whispering Winds in November of 2004 as Assistant Manager, and left in May of 2006 to take a position closer to her home in Culver. As many of us know, there is no better place to work than WW, and she returned to her Assistant Manager position in February of 2007. She says "it's great to be home again." Carrie's career in the retirement industry began in 1996 as a Business Manager and has included working in nursing homes, assisted living and retirement communities. She and her husband have been in Central Oregon since 2001. They have three children.

ANGELA VANDERPOOL, Marketing Director
Angela Vanderpool began her employment with Whispering Winds in July of 2008 as Marketing Director. Angela has been in sales and marketing since graduating from the University of Portland in 1993. She truly enjoys the special relationships that she is able to build with residents and their families during their move-in process. According to Angela, being the Marketing Director for Whispering Winds is truly the “Best Job in Town” because once you walk in the door it sells itself from its beauty to the great staff to the wonderful residents. Angela has made Central Oregon her home for the past eleven years and enjoys everything it has to offer with her husband, son and two dogs.

MARK TOLSTOY, Excecutive Chef
Mark Tolstoy joined Whispering Winds as Executive Chef in April 2011. He takes over the helm of "Open Dining" in what is often referred to as "the best restaurant in Bend". Mark grew up in a household with 5 boys, so eating was a big deal. It didn't hurt that his mom was a gourmet cook. Mark enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1979 and 6 months later entered cooking school. He was the head cook in Florence, Oregon (a small boat station) and Buoy Tender in Cordova, Alaska. After leaving the Coast Guard, he entered college and cooked his way through school. By the time he left college, Mark had caught the cooking bug and has been cooking ever since. Mark has cooked and managed at least 40 plus different restaurants and hotels, including three of his own restaurants on the Oregon Coast and Grants Pass.

CHRISTIE CAMPBELL, Dining Manager
Christie Campbell is Whispering Winds' Dining Room Manager. She has held this position since September, 2009. Christie came to Whispering Winds as Assistant Dining Room Manager when WW first opened in May, 2003. Before her employment at Whispering Winds, Christie had several years experience in the food service industry. Christie lives in Bend with her husband. She has three grown sons and enjoys spending time with her family.

SHERRY SUBICA, Activity Director
Sherry Subica is one of the founding employees of Whispering Winds, coming on board as Activity Director in April 2003. She started working with the senior community in the Bend area in 1996 after moving to La Pine from Hawaii in 1994. Sherry enjoys laughter and spontaneity, of which she says the seniors are always eager participants. "Nowhere have I ever worked for a company so dedicated to the absolute happiness of every resident. And the whole crew strives for that goal." Sherry's hobbies are shopping and shopping, both of which she enjoys in and out of the work area.

DAVID LOVEGREN, Chief Engineer
David Lovegren joined Whispering Winds in February of 2005 as Chief Engineer in charge of facilities and grounds maintenance. David graduated in 1988 from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation. He was a camp director at a United Methodist camp and retreat center outside Ellensburg, Washington for eight years. David managed a fishing lodge in Bristol Bay, Alaska for five years and was camp director at Suttle Lake and Wallowa Lake United Methodist camps for three years before joining the staff at Whispering Winds.

MARIE ROSENAU, Housekeeping Sup.
Marie began her career at Whispering Winds in June, 2007, as a housekeeper. In November, 2008, Marie was promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor, supervising six housekeepers at Whispering Winds.
Marie has had experience in the housekeeping industry for many years. Originally from Minnesota, Marie moved to Oregon in 2007. Marie lives in Redmond with her husband. Marie enjoys spending time with family when possible. She also enjoys gardening, quilting, camping and has a growing collection of salt & pepper shakers.
