MARY HAMILTON, General Manager
Mary Hamilton came to Whispering Winds when the community first opened in May 2003. Mary began her tenure at WW as the Assistant Manager and moved to General Manager in April 2005. Before coming to WW, Mary had 20 years of experience in the retirement industry, working for different retirement communities from California to Florida, and finally Central Oregon, which she says is the best place in the country to live! Mary has lived in Central Oregon since 2000. She lives with her husband, who is also in the retirement field, their four cats, one dog and numerous deer and squirrels.

CARRIE KASCH , Assistant Manager
Carrie Kasch began her employment at Whispering Winds in November of 2004 as Assistant Manager, and left in May of 2006 to take a position closer to her home in Culver. As many of us know, there is no better place to work than WW, and she returned to her Assistant Manager position in February of 2007. She says "it's great to be home again." Carrie's career in the retirement industry began in 1996 as a Business Manager and has included working in nursing homes, assisted living and retirement communities. She and her husband have been in Central Oregon since 2001. They have three children.

STEPHANIE ADAMS, Marketing Dir.
Stephanie Adams will tell you she considers it a privilege to market the most exceptional retirement community in Central Oregon. Stephanie has been the WW Marketing Director since June 2004 when she moved to Bend with her husband, Patton. She has a background in journalism and communications and marketed a retirement community in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio before moving to Bend. Stephanie is currently pursuing a gerontology certificate at OSU-Cascades and enjoys getting to know older adults through the move-in process and continuing those relationships once they are a resident. She loves working at Whispering Winds because of its commitment to excellence, and prides herself on being part of a team that throws the best parties in town!

MICHAEL MILLER, Excecutive Chef
Michael Miller is the original Whispering Winds Executive Chef. He came to WW in April 2003 after running his own restaurant in Sunriver. Chef Michael graduated from the California Culinary Academy in 1991 and has over 20 years of experience in the food service industry. Chef Michael has been responsible for development and implementation of the amazing Whispering Winds menus since their inception. He works diligently to identify our residents' likes and requests as he designs rotational menus and daily specials. Michael has lived in Central Oregon for over 20 years.

MICHAEL LAPORTE, Dining Manager
Michael Laporte began his career at Whispering Winds in 2003, just a few short months after the grand opening. Originally a cook, Mike was promoted to Dining Room Manager in June 2005. Mike began his foodservice career after a stint in the Air Force, as a waiter at several popular restaurants in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1982. In 1992, he took a two year kitchen apprenticeship under Chef Sam Ricker at John's Loft in Hyannis where he learned the many aspects of back-of-house restaurant operations. Mike returned to Student Prince Restaurant in 1994 where he managed purchasing, menu planning and event coordination. In 1999, Mike relocated to Central Oregon after many vacations here. He currently lives in La Pine with his five show dogs (boxers), two barn cats and his horse, Sweetie.

SHERRY SUBICA, Activity Director
Sherry Subica is one of the founding employees of Whispering Winds, coming on board as Activity Director in April 2003. She started working with the senior community in the Bend area in 1996 after moving to La Pine from Hawaii in 1994. Sherry enjoys laughter and spontaneity, of which she says the seniors are always eager participants. "Nowhere have I ever worked for a company so dedicated to the absolute happiness of every resident. And the whole crew strives for that goal." Sherry's hobbies are shopping and shopping, both of which she enjoys in and out of the work area.

DAVID LOVEGREN, Chief Engineer
David Lovegren joined Whispering Winds in February of 2005 as Chief Engineer in charge of facilities and grounds maintenance. David graduated in 1988 from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation. He was a camp director at a United Methodist camp and retreat center outside Ellensburg, Washington for eight years. David managed a fishing lodge in Bristol Bay, Alaska for five years and was camp director at Suttle Lake and Wallowa Lake United Methodist camps for three years before joining the staff at Whispering Winds.
LINDA HINES, Housekeeping Sup.
Linda Hines is one of many original employees at Whispering Winds. She joined the staff prior to our opening in May 2003, as Lead Receptionist. Linda added the housekeeping supervisory duties to her responsibilities in 2006. Prior to coming to Whispering Winds, she worked as a church secretary for over 21 years. Linda has lived in Central Oregon since 1978.
